Art Adventures BEGINNINGS Camp - Ages 4-6
Our exciting BEGINNINGS Camp is designed specifically for our youngest artists, ages 4-6 years, to guide our campers through an exploration of visual art, play, and song as a first step towards interdisciplinary creation. Our camp links creative problem solving with exploratory learning, all directly tied to children’s imagination and a desire to create.
Each week we build a new small camp community, valuing our unique young artists and their personalities. We encourage self-expression, respect, creative exploration, and play.
Beginnings Camp is Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. This full-day schedule for the week includes a creatively rich curriculum of art making, open and structured projects that build throughout the week, environmental projects and discovery, free play, and quiet “reading” time. We emphasize exploration with mediums such as drawing, painting, sculpture, sewing, and mixed media. If your camper is not quite ready for that long of a day, you are welcome to come pick your camper up early. We do offer a quiet time in the afternoon, where campers listen to music, read or listen to stories while on their quiet time mat for 30 min. By the end of the week, many campers have a little nap during this quiet time, as these are busy camp days!
At the end of the week, we welcome both family and friends to come to campus at 3:30pm for our Friday Art Walk, where campers can show off their work and the creative camp studio and parents can meet the teaching artists.
Additional supervised care is available from 8am-9am (Before Care) and from 5pm-6pm (After Care). Before/After Care is offered as a package for an additional fee of $30 per session.
Each week of Beginnings Camp will have a unique and exciting focus, so repeat campers are welcome!
We hope to see you at Beginnings Camp!
**Please note that there is a $35 processing fee for session changes and cancellations
