In the first half of this workshop students will have the opportunity to print onto fabrics using non-photo emulsion screen printing techniques (drawing fluid and screen filler) and sun printing methods. Students will be given a variety of patterns and stencils to work with for creating their fabric printing designs. Students will have the opportunity to select which methods they would like to use for their fabrics. In the second half of this workshop students will learn introductory sewing methods while learning to create wearable structures. Students will have the opportunity to stitch their own unique handbag and shirt construction from the fabrics they have printed.
**Pre-College Workshops begin Monday morning at 9am, and then 10am for each day after. Each morning, Tues-Fri, 9am-10am is designed as an optional "Open Studio" time for students to work on their projects. The Teaching Instructor will be present to prep and set up and available for guidance and questions. The workshop will then formally begin at 10am Tues-Friday.
