This class will explore appropriation, re-contextualizing found imagery to create new meaning. Students will have access to a variety of images to make copies of for the acetone transfer process. Students are also welcome to bring found images to work from during this workshop. In the second part of this week ling workshops, students will have the opportunity to learn the basics of linoleum printing. They will spend time drawing, learning how to carve the blocks, and the process for printing theses reproducible images. While learning how to print editions with consistency students will have the opportunity to practice this process and take home a small edition of prints and/or work this print technique into the previously made acetone transfer collages.
